Wendy and I met as teenagers and were together for 59 years. When I met her she was the epitome of the swinging sixties. She was just so very pretty, but as I grew to know her I realised she had a beautiful and generous nature to go alongside it. I loved her then and have done so all my life. Fortunately she came to feel the same way about me. We married a few years later and have been inseparable since. In time we had two children, Chris and Tim, to whom she was a loving and devoted mother.
Wendy had little interest in material possessions. Her only interests were her home, her family and her friends and of course her love for anything with four legs and a tail was legendary. All waifs and strays were welcomed and cared for.
For me she had no faults but some might suggest her love for confectionery and chocolate a tad excessive. And her addiction to television a lifelong trait from childhood.
To me Wendy was always my ever so affectionate and loving wife but she was also my best pal. I will miss her and think of her every day.
I guess I just got lucky that day in 1965.
